The Mining Symphony Orchestra played a concert called" Bicentennial "in the Sala Nezahualcoyotl . The event organized on 29 March as part of the University Linkage Programme was proposed a month earlier during the" Great Alumni breakfast.
Dr. Daniel Barrera, head of the Liaison Program, took the floor to welcoming more than 2 000 former students and said that this is the first time Symphony Orchestra Mining plays a concert to commemorate the Bicentennial of Independence Mexico.
Later, the engineer Carlos de la Mora , who chairs the Academy Mining Music, expressed his appreciation for the large attendance and stressed the program of the concert in honor of alumni of all majors who attended the University Cultural Centre from the 3 and a half ago not to miss the expected function. The young Jose Arean, masterfully directed the concert they played at the beginning the Mexican anthem. In the second part, the orchestra began with "Sones de Mariachi" by Blas Galindo, followed with a rendition of the famous "Huapango" by Juan Pablo Moncayo, and offered an "Encore" with special arrangements " La Bamba", which closed with a flourish the extraordinary musical evening. Al term, UNAM alumni enthusiastically chanted several "Goya", in a scenic setting hard to beat.
