Youth National Essay Prize "José Vasconcelos" 2009


BASES:

1. Participation by women writers and writers-born Mexicans residing in the country, thirty-five years at the end of this announcement. Excluded: jobs that are participating in other competitions in hopes of opinion, works that have been awarded in other contests, the authors or authors who have received any award from the Inland Cultural Program, and the staff of the Directorate General Publications National Council Culture and the Arts, as well as Autonomous University Benito Juarez of Oaxaca.


2. Each contestant must submit an unpublished volume of literary essays, in English with a free theme and with a minimum length of 60 (sixty) pages and a maximum of 120 (one hundred twenty). Papers must be submitted seaming, four copies, written on computer, double spaced, in eleven point arial font, printed on letter size paper and on one side.


3. The contestants will participate and a pseudonym. Assistant to work in a sealed envelope and identified with the same pseudonym, please send your name, address, telephone number, and to have them, fax number and email address and photocopy of birth certificate and a curricular tab. These envelopes will be identifiable deposited by the committee at a public notary in the city of Oaxaca.


4. Papers should be sent to: University "Benito Juárez" de Oaxaca. General Secretariat of the UABJO . National Essay Prize Young José Vasconcelos. Ex Hacienda Cinco Señores, Ciudad Universitaria CP 68120, Oaxaca, Oaxaca.


5. This call will be effective upon publication. The deadline for receipt of entries is Friday March 6, 2009. In the case of the papers sent by mail or courier will be accepted whose delivery date does not exceed the limit of the call.


6. The jury will be composed of specialists in the literary discipline and their names will be announced at the time of issuance of the decision.


7. Once issued the verdict of the jury, shall be notarized at the opening of escrow to identify whoever is winner and will be notified immediately and disseminated through local and national press.


8. We do not return the originals or copies of the work is not rewarded, which will be destroyed in order to protect copyright.


9. The organizers will cover the costs of transportation, housing and feeding the winner to attend the award ceremony in the city of Oaxaca.


10. Jury is empowered to disqualify any entry not complying with any of the requirements in this solicitation.


11. The result of the jury's decision will be announced via national newspapers and local in April 2009.


12. A prize is one and indivisible $ 50,000.00 (fifty thousand pesos 00/100 mn) in cash and diploma, and the publication of books in the Fondo Editorial Tierra Adentro.


13. El ganador o ganadora, cederá los derechos de su obra al Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes para la primera edición y firmará el contrato de cesión correspondiente.



14. El Premio puede ser declarado desierto. En este caso las instituciones convocantes se reservan el criterio de aplicar el recurso correspondiente en acciones de apoyo a la literatura.



15. If any work with honors, Inland Cultural Program is not committed to its publication.


16. Participation in the competition implies acceptance of the terms of these bases.


17. The organizing committee will resolve cases not covered.
